Information as to how to arrange to play
Your first step is to contact us via email with a request to be added to our mailing list. The pattern of emails is then 1) "Call for Players", 2) You request to play, 3) Update with your name on the list 4) Turn up and play!
1 Call for Players .
Once on our mailing list, you are likely to get an email within 24 hours, which simultaneously calls for players , updates the list of people already signed up to play and specifies spaces left on each court. The message will have up to 10 days of games listed and will look something like this...
Call for players for week starting 7th March Thursday 1pm(Court 1) Jens, Alex, Iain, (1 more please) (Court 2) (4 more please)
Friday 12.30 pm(Court 1) Mariya, Sean, Alex, Mark (Court 2) Gary, Ewan, Harshal, Saydulla
Call for players for week starting 14th March Monday 12.30 pm(Court 1) Sean, (3 more please) (Court 2) (4 more please)

2 Request to play
Reply to that mail, or subsequent mails, with a request to play. You can pick as many days as you want - though you may not get all of them. Your reply will be something like this...

I can play on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th.

3 Updates
Email notifications are usually sent out daily, but occasionally there is more than one update per day. They will indicate that ;
- We have enough players for certain days.
- We need 1 or more players for a certain day.
- There has been insufficient interest for a certain day and there will be no play that day.
4 Turn up and play!
When entering ISE, you will swipe in or pay at their reception desk as normal, and state you are playing with The Lunchtime Badminton Group. You will be informed which sports hall our courts are in.
Pay £1 on the court to the person supplying the shuttles.
In consideration of your fellow players, we do ask that if for some reason you are unable to play on a day that you are signed up for, you let us know as soon as possible. We can then try and arrange for someone else to take your place.
Court times
Courts are pre- booked for us and are currently on the following days:-
- Monday (2 courts) 12.30pm
- Tuesday (2 courts) 1pm
- Wednesday (2 courts) 12.30pm
- Thursday (2 courts) 1pm
- Friday (2 courts) 12.30pm
Tips
It can be useful to keep sports gear with you every day, as sometimes a final update reply comes only in the morning of the game. You may also wish to organise your email rules so that all emails from us end up in one folder. “Badminton” is always in the subject of the mail.
